Seiffedine Dhoui named Week 7 Athlete of the Week

On a Championship winning team full of talent, Universite de Saint-Boniface’s Seiffedine Dhoui stood out in the 2015 MCAC men’s soccer season and especially in Week 7, earning him Athlete of the Week honours.

“Seif is excellent at creating space in tight areas for a shot and
when giving his chance he usually put the ball in the back of the net. Seif
had 12 goals this season and many through combinations with Yahia and two
extremely important ones in the MCAC final” says Justin Legare, head coach of Les Rouges.

Legere refers to Dhoui’s consistent accomplice, Yahia Chihab, a holding forward that played below and distributed to Dhoui whenever the two shared the field during the season. Dhoui was awarded the MCAC Championship MVP, but he maintains that without the combination the USB threat wouldn’t be nearly as lethal.

“Yahia had 11 goals on the season and again many of them
coming from combinations with Seif. In the semis and final I felt Yahia was
our best all round player, he defended hard, won tackles, won important
head balls battles in the middle of the field and worked his typical magic
with Seif upfront.”

Dhaoui finished his time spent in the MCAC on the highest of notes, as he will not return next season. As for Yahia Chihab, he looks to keep Les Rouges’ future golden beginning next September.
