It wouldn’t be farfetched to say that Brittney Adrian is the most dominant female basketball player in the MCAC. It only takes one look at the stat sheets to see how much merit that statement actually might have.
Not only is her team undefeated, but she’s top five in league scoring, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, and minutes, with a first-place rank in assists and steals. That type of all-round dominance is a rarity in competitive sports, and has obviously caught her coach’s attention, earning her over 35 minutes of floor-time per game, and a lot of credit for her team’s success.
“Brittney has led us on both sides of the court, and has put up huge numbers this season,” says head coach Jaenas Pangilinan. “She’s a big reason why we’re undefeated so far this year.”
Last weekend, Adrian continued to show her versatility, contributing all over the scoresheet in her team’s 66-27 route over Canadian Mennonite University, recording 12 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 8 steals in her 31 minutes of play.
The Rebels will be counting on Adrian to continue her dominance into the MCAC Final Four’s on March 7 and 8 at Providence University College.
Adrian is in her fourth year on the team, and is studying at Red River to be an educational assistant.
