Raegan Caron – Université de Saint-Boniface
It has been a turn-around season so far for the Université de Saint-Boniface women’s volleyball team. After failing to make the Final Four’s last year, they have already doubled their win total and sit tied for first in the MCAC standings.
There are many factors to the team’s impressive play early on, but head coach Martin Rochon points to Raegan Caron as a big part of their success.
“In her first year as a starting setter, Raegan has quickly adapted to the demands of the collegiate game,” says Rochon. “ She is great on the serve, distributes the ball wisely, and her level-headedness and calm demeanour has been a huge asset for our team.”
Caron was vital for Saint Boniface as they took home a very impressive three wins in two days last weekend, taking out CMU in straight sets, and Assiniboine Community College in two gruelling five set matches.
With Caron at the helm as setter, things are looking good for Les Rouges as they look to keep up their strong play to earn themselves a shot at the title come February.
Caron is from Lorrette, Manitoba, and was born in Oakville, Ontario. She’s now in her second year of Nursing at Université de Saint-Boniface.
