MCAC names Volleyball All-Conference Teams

Just before each semifinals match at the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) 2013 Volleyball Final 4’s on Friday, the conference revealed its All-Conference Teams and Most Valuable Players in both men’s and women’s volleyball to the audience at Red River College’s Notre Dame Campus. The selections were based on votes by the member schools’ coaches and are listed below:

Men’s Volleyball
Most Valuable Player – Stefan Dirks, University of Winnipeg (pictured)
Nathaniel Therrien, University of Winnipeg
Aaron Cyr, Red River College
Erik Hansen, Red River College
Kieran Enns, Canadian Mennonite University
Brad Angus, Red River College
Shawn Franz, Canadian Mennonite University

Women’s Volleyball
Most Valuable Player – Lauren Toews, Providence University College (pictured)
Amanda Armour, University of Winnipeg
Natalie Manicotto, Red River College
Tyra Tetrault, Red River College
Christa Penner, Providence University College
Breanne Giesbrecht, Canadian Mennonite University
Elyse Savoie, University of Winnipeg

The Volleyball Final 4’s take place at Red River College’s Notre Dame Campus on February 22 and 23. The women’s championship between #1-seeded Providence University College and #3-seeded Red River College will be played at 2 p.m. on Feb. 23. The men’s championship between #1 Red River College and #2 University of Winnipeg College will be played at 4 p.m. on Feb. 23.

Day passes are $5.  Students at MCAC member schools get in free by showing valid student ID.
