With four straight men’s volleyball championships, you’d think there would be nowhere for the Red River Rebels to improve.
With new competition in the conference though, the Rebels and their first-year middle Graham Peltier proved in Week 8 that they are ready to pick up right where they left off last season. Thanks to a remarkable sixteen kills and fifteen stuff blocks in two games against the new team in the conference, the University of Winnipeg College Wesmen, Peltier pushed his team to a perfect 3-0 record.
“Graham was able to effectively shut down the Wesmen’s top offensive threats through very disciplined blocking,” said Dan Gilbert, Red River men’s volleyball head coach. “Offensively, a flawless connection between our setter and Peltier not only resulted in our middle kills, but created more opportunities for our offence to score from all positions.”
The 6’3” Peltier is majoring in culinary arts and attended high school at Dakota Collegiate.
