It was a week where the University of Winnipeg women dominated more than they have all season. Two games. Two shutouts. 23 goals.
Behind the first win, a 10-0 dismantling of the winless Red River College Rebels, was first-year forward Jeanine Froese, who scored two goals to bring her season tally to five at that point. An addition already paying off for the Wesmen, Froese, 5’3” and just 18 years old, is in her first year working towards a degree in education. She has a history with the sport as the captain of both her soccer and basketball teams at Garden Valley Collegiate, winning Soccer Provincial MVP twice.
